AI visibility for New Zealand private healthcare

Nearly two thirds of the business mentions we recorded in private healthcare came with a source, which is high. AI is willing to name a provider here, and willing to say where it got the information. It named more than 950 New Zealand providers across our tests.

The catch is where they get it from.

One directory decides more of this answer than any provider

One New Zealand health directory is the site AI points at most in this sector, by a wide margin. It is quoted more often than any hospital, clinic or specialist group we measured, and it turns up in three of the sectors we track, not just this one.

For a private provider that means your listing there is doing work your website is not. A wrong or thin entry is a visibility problem that no amount of work on your own site will fix.

Every sector we measure, ranked. A lower number means the two answers name almost entirely different businesses, so a business has to be won twice.

What we ran

Five service areas with 28 questions each: fertility treatment, private orthopaedic surgery, cataract and laser eye surgery, private health screening, and private specialist consultations. Put to five AI tools, both ways, across 18 New Zealand locations.

What this means if you run a private clinic

At 18 percent, the match between remembered and searched answers is among the highest we measure, which makes this sector fairly stable. What an AI thinks about your clinic tends to stick.

That cuts both ways. Established providers hold their position more firmly here, and a newer clinic has to earn its way into both answers rather than one.
